Dental Implants in Western Sydney

Permanent, natural-looking tooth replacements at our Ropes Crossing Village practice - no travel required.

The Gold Standard in Tooth Replacement

A dental implant is a small titanium post surgically placed into your jawbone to act as an artificial tooth root. Once it fuses with the bone through osseointegration, a custom porcelain crown is attached on top - giving you a replacement tooth that looks, feels and functions just like a natural one.

Unlike dentures or bridges, dental implants are a permanent solution. They stimulate the jawbone to prevent bone loss, preserve your facial structure, and require no special maintenance beyond regular brushing and check-ups.

At Serene Family Dental in Ropes Crossing, our implant-trained dentists use 3D cone beam CT imaging to plan every placement with precision. Whether you're replacing one tooth or several, we handle the entire journey from consultation to final crown right here at our Ropes Crossing Village clinic - conveniently accessible from Penrith, Blacktown, Mount Druitt and all surrounding suburbs.

Which Type of Dental Implant Do You Need?

From a single missing tooth to a full arch restoration, we have an implant solution for every situation.

Single Tooth Implant

One titanium post topped with a custom porcelain crown. The ideal solution for a single missing tooth — preserves the jawbone, looks completely natural, and doesn't affect adjacent teeth at all.

Most Common

Implant-Supported Bridge

Two implant posts anchor a bridge across multiple missing teeth. Stronger and more stable than a conventional bridge — no need to grind down healthy neighbouring teeth to support it.

Multiple Teeth

Full Arch (All-on-4 / All-on-6)

A complete upper or lower set of teeth supported by just 4–6 strategically placed implants. A life-changing option for patients who have lost most or all of their teeth in one arch.

Full Arch

What to Expect, Step by Step

We guide you through every stage — from your first consultation to your final smile.

1
Initial Visit

Consultation & 3D Imaging

We examine your mouth, take 3D cone beam CT scans to assess bone density and structure, and discuss your goals. You'll receive a detailed written treatment plan and itemised cost estimate with no obligation.

2
If Required

Preparatory Treatment

If needed, we address any pre-existing gum disease or perform tooth extractions first. Bone grafting may be recommended if your jawbone density is insufficient — this adds healing time but greatly improves long-term outcomes.

3
Day of Surgery

Implant Post Placement

The titanium post is placed into your jawbone under local anaesthetic. The procedure typically takes 60–90 minutes per implant. Sedation is available for anxious patients. Most people return to normal activities the next day.

4
2–4 Months

Osseointegration (Healing)

The implant post fuses with your jawbone in a process called osseointegration. This is the most critical phase — your body is building a permanent biological foundation. You'll have a temporary restoration to use during this time.

5
Short Appointment

Abutment Placement

Once the implant has fully integrated, we attach a small connector piece (abutment) to the post. This is a minor procedure — usually done under local anaesthetic or sometimes without any anaesthetic at all.

6
Final Step

Crown Fitting & Final Smile

Your custom-made porcelain crown is permanently attached to the abutment. It's colour-matched and shaped to blend perfectly with your natural teeth. The result: a complete, permanent smile that's yours to keep for life.

Am I a Good Candidate for Dental Implants?

Most healthy adults with missing teeth are suitable. Here's what we look for at your consultation.

Healthy Gums

Gum disease must be treated and resolved before implant placement. We assess and treat gum health as part of your preparation at no extra stress.

Adequate Bone Density

Sufficient jawbone is needed to anchor the implant securely. If bone loss has occurred, bone grafting can often restore enough bone for a successful outcome.

General Good Health

You should be in general good health and able to undergo a minor surgical procedure. Some medical conditions like uncontrolled diabetes may require management first.

Non-Smoker (Preferred)

Smoking reduces implant success rates. We encourage patients to quit before and after surgery — we'll have an honest conversation about this at your consultation.

Fully Developed Jaw

Implants are generally recommended for adults whose jaws have fully developed (typically 18+). There is no upper age limit — patients in their 70s and 80s regularly achieve excellent outcomes.

Not sure if you're suitable? Don't guess — book a consultation. We'll take 3D scans and give you an honest assessment of your options, including alternatives if implants aren't right for your situation.

Ideal Implant Candidate

Adult with one or more missing teeth
Healthy gums (or treatable gum issues)
Sufficient jawbone density
No uncontrolled systemic disease
Committed to good oral hygiene
Non-smoker or willing to stop

Dental Implant Costs & Payment Options

Transparent pricing, flexible payment plans, and health fund support — no financial surprises.

What Affects the Cost?

Cost varies based on the number of implants needed, whether bone grafting is required, and the type of restoration (single crown, bridge, or full arch). At your consultation you'll receive a detailed written, itemised quote — no surprises.

Health Fund Rebates

Some private health funds offer partial rebates on dental implants under major dental cover. We use HICAPS to process your claim on the spot, so you only pay the gap — no paperwork, no delays, no waiting for reimbursement.

Long-Term Value

While implants have a higher upfront cost than bridges or dentures, they typically last a lifetime with proper care — making them the most cost-effective tooth replacement option when viewed over 10–20 years.

humm Payment Plans

Spread the cost of your implants over time with humm's flexible options. Interest-free and low-rate plans available — apply in minutes at your appointment.

Afterpay

Pay for your dental treatment in four equal fortnightly instalments with zero interest. Available for eligible treatments — ask at reception for details.

HICAPS On-the-Spot

We process all major health fund claims on-the-spot with HICAPS. Bring your card and we'll confirm your entitlements before treatment begins — you only pay the gap.

No-Obligation Written Quote

Your consultation includes a full written treatment plan with itemised costs. No pressure, no obligation — just a clear picture of your options and the investment involved.

Dental Implants - Your Questions Answered

With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime. The titanium post fuses permanently with the jawbone, while the porcelain crown on top typically lasts 15–20 years before needing replacement. Regular check-ups and good oral hygiene are all that's needed to protect your investment.
The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic, so you won't feel pain during surgery. Some post-operative soreness and mild swelling for a few days is normal and manageable with standard pain relief. Sedation is available for anxious patients - many people are pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the experience is.
Costs depend on how many teeth need replacing, whether bone grafting is needed, and the type of restoration. We provide a detailed written quote at your consultation with no obligation. Flexible payment plans are available through humm and Afterpay, and we check your health fund entitlements on the day using HICAPS.
Most healthy adults with missing teeth are suitable candidates. Key factors include adequate jawbone density and healthy gums. We use 3D cone beam CT imaging to assess your bone structure at your consultation. Even if your bone density is low, bone grafting may make implants possible - we'll advise you on the best path forward.
The full process typically takes 3–6 months from implant placement to final crown, including 2–4 months of healing time. Appointments are spread comfortably over this period. In some cases, immediate loading — where a temporary crown is placed the same day as the implant — may be suitable. We'll discuss the best timeline for your situation at your consultation.
Yes — absolutely. Your porcelain crown is custom-made to match the shade, shape, and size of your surrounding teeth. Once placed, it is virtually indistinguishable from a natural tooth. Even close family members are unlikely to notice the difference. The implant also sits below the gumline just like a natural root, so there's no visible metal or abutment showing.
Yes, though the longer a tooth has been missing, the more likely it is that some bone loss has occurred in that area. This is because the jawbone naturally resorbs when it's no longer stimulated by a tooth root. In many cases, bone grafting can rebuild this bone and allow implant placement. We use 3D cone beam CT imaging to assess exactly how much bone is present at your consultation.
Dental implant failure is rare — success rates are above 95% when placed by trained clinicians in suitable patients. The most common cause of failure is infection (peri-implantitis) or failure to osseointegrate. If an implant does fail, the post can be removed, the site allowed to heal, and a new implant placed after bone grafting if needed. We monitor your implant carefully at every check-up to catch any early signs of issues.
