1 Our Commitment

Serene Family Dental is committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disability. We want everyone who visits serenefamilydental.com.au to be able to find information about our care, book an appointment and contact the practice with ease.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard referenced by the Australian Government and the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth).

2 What We Do

Accessibility is considered as we build and maintain the site. Measures in place include:

  • Semantic HTML structure with clear headings, landmarks and a "Skip to main content" link on every page
  • Full keyboard navigation, with a visible focus outline on links, buttons and form fields
  • Text and background colours chosen to meet AA contrast ratios for body content
  • Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images
  • Support for reduced-motion preferences, so animations are removed for visitors who request it
  • Responsive layouts that work across phones, tablets and desktops, and remain usable when text is enlarged

3 Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some parts of the site may not yet be fully accessible:

  • Our online booking is provided through a third-party system (Praktika). We do not control its code and cannot guarantee its accessibility. If you have trouble booking online, please call us on (02) 9053 1995 and we will book your appointment for you.
  • Some older blog images and embedded maps may have limited alternative text or keyboard support.
  • The site has not yet been formally audited by an independent accessibility specialist.

We treat these as areas for ongoing improvement and review the site regularly.

4 Compatibility

The site is designed to work with current versions of major browsers, including Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox, and with common assistive technologies such as screen readers and screen magnifiers. Using the most recent version of your browser and assistive software will give the best experience.
